Frec was founded in 2021 and is based out of San Francisco. We’re funded by a long list of incredible investors from companies like Google, Meta, Brex, and more. Our biggest backer is Greylock. Frec has two subsidiaries: one is an SEC registered investment adviser and the other is an SEC registered broker dealer and FINRA member. Assets are housed at Apex Clearing House.

Driven by a shared frustration around antiquated finance tools and costly wealth managers, we built Frec to help anyone (including ourselves) access modern finance tools that are simple to use and low cost.

Founder and CEO
Mo is a serial entrepreneur. Before Frec, he was the first advisor of Instacart, founder of Twitvid, and a product leader at Twitter.
Sandeep Sripada
Chief Technology Officer
Sandeep worked at Twitter and Apple prior to joining Frec. He has a Masters degree in CS (specialization: AI) from Stanford University.
Ashley Rodabaugh
Chief Compliance Officer
Frec is Ashley’s 3rd fintech serving as the CCO. Previously she worked for M1, Tastytrade, and Nationwide. She’s also a licensed attorney.
Dimitri Rodrigo
Head of Brokerage Ops
Dimitri is a brokerage operations principal with 7 years of experience, most recently at M1 Finance. He holds multiple securities licenses.
Líney Arnórsdóttir
Head of Marketing
Líney has held various marketing roles at companies like Affirm, Titan, and JUUL. She has a degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Bhavdeep Sethi
Software Engineer
Before Frec, Bhavdeep worked at Twitter and Flipkart. He has done a Masters in Computer Science (Machine Learning) from Columbia University.
James Neufeld
Software Engineer
James works primarily on portfolio optimization algorithms. He was previously an ML engineer at Twitter and holds a PhD in machine learning.
Ellani Johnson
Product Designer
Ellani is a designer, previously at Twitter. Before that, she studied Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Washington.

Software Engineer
Kenneth worked at Twitter for 10 years. He built sites for advertising agencies in London. He has degrees in Computer Science and Physics.

Before Frec, Grace was a designer at Cruise and VMware. She has a degree in culture and design from UC Berkeley.

Hansen worked at Google, Splunk, and Salesforce before Frec. He graduated from University of Waterloo with an engineering degree.
