CRSP indices renamed to Morningstar

You may notice some new names showing up in Frec or your Frec dashboard. Here’s what’s changed and what it means for your portfolio.

What changed

Morningstar recently acquired the CRSP indices and, as a result, has renamed them.

For example, the CRSP US Large Cap Index is now the Morningstar US Large Cap Index. The naming convention has changed, but the indices, methodology, and constituents have not.

What this means for you

If your direct indexing strategy tracks one of these indices, you’ll see the updated name reflected across your Frec dashboard.

There’s no action required on your part. Your strategy, underlying holdings, and account fees remain exactly the same.
