This month, we introduced features that make it easier to manage your portfolio, plan for the future, and customize exposure. Here’s what’s new at Frec:

See your tax harvest savings at a glance

View your harvested losses and estimated tax savings from your Overview page. Simply click “Tax losses YTD” under Total assets to see a breakdown of short and long-term losses harvested across all your direct indices.

Add or update beneficiaries directly in your account

Manage beneficiaries directly in your Frec account. Just head to:

  1. Account settings → Profile tab
  2. Scroll to Beneficiaries
  3. Click Add or Edit

Note: This feature is only available for individual and joint accounts (excluding Louisiana residents). For more details, check out our Help Center.

Pause trading on specific stocks across all direct indices

Whether you’re navigating blackout periods or restricted trading windows, our trade restriction feature gives you more control by allowing you to pause trading on stocks across your portfolio

Some notes:

  • Restrict up to 5 stock restrictions across all of your direct indices.
  • Still buy/sell the restricted stock in your self-managed account.
  • This differs from the exclusion feature, which completely removes a stock from a specific index.
  • Auto-converson will be disabled for restricted stocks in your self-managed account.

You can restrict a stock when you set up a direct index or in your Investing tab.

Two new index options

We’re added two new indices, one value and one growth, to help you match your portfolio with your strategy.

CRSP US Large Cap Value Index

Value stocks include established companies that are considered undervalued relative to their fundamentals. These businesses typically offer steady cash flow and higher dividend payouts, making them appealing to investors seeking more stability during market volatility.

Top holdings: JP Morgan Chase & Company, Broadcom Inc, Exxon Mobil Corporation, and United Health Group.

CRSP US Large Cap Growth Index

This index features companies that are growing faster than the overall market and often reinvest profits to fuel expansion. It may be appealing to investors looking for higher potential returns and more exposure to innovation-driven sectors like AI.

Top holdings: Apple Inc, Microsoft Corporation, NVIDIA Corporation, and Amazon.com Inc.
